OUR PHOTO AND IMAGE RESOURCES

• Make sure you have kept copies of your precious images when sending us your photos!
• Very large file sizes may be difficult for you to email. There is no limit on file size, and images of small resolution may only be of use on for websites, and are unlikely to give a suitable print quality. Printing requires a resolution giving a minimum of 240 dpi.
  Images can be in JPG, GIF or PNG format and if you wish you can put a collection in a ZIP file to send to us.
• With each photo or image we need its basic details. You can supply these in the email, or on an attachment, say a MS Word file or PDF, or you can help us further by sending the images with a shortfile name that has a brief DESCRIPTION of the content, has the DATE taken, and YOUR NAME or membership number.

If amending the filenames is a problem, just send us the details, referencing the photos, and we will sort it out.

If you wish to help us with the filenames please give each image file a useful file name in this order:

DESCRIPTION. DATE. SOURCE

• DATESwanted are the date of the photo or image, NOT the contribution! Approximate dates are fine, as would be ‘unknown’. If using a numerical date, it is best written backwards: YEAR.MONTH.DAY e.g. 07.03.22
• SOURCEis your TRA membership number or your name. So we know who to credit, or contact with any queries. Spaces, higher or lower case letters, and full stops can all be used in file names. Most punctuations other than full stops do not work in filenames. Most files from digital cameras have the date of taking recorded in the file information. However this can be lost if the file is edited or modified, and the date on your camera may not have been set correctly, so we prefer the date in the file name itself. EXAMPLES of image file names could be:
